He entered a house and did not want anyone to know it; yet he could not keep his presence secret. In fact, as soon as she heard about him, a woman whose little daughter was possessed by an evil spirit came and fell at his feet. The woman was a Greek, born in Syrian Phoenicia. She begged Jesus to drive the demon out of her daughter.\n\u201cFirst let the children eat all they want,\u201d he told her, \u201cfor it is not right to take the children\u2019s bread and toss it to their dogs.\u201d\n\u201cYes, Lord,\u201d she replied, \u201cbut even the dogs under the table eat the children\u2019s crumbs.\u201d\nThen he told her, \u201cFor such a reply, you may go; the demon has left your daughter.\u201d\nShe went home and found her child lying on the bed, and the demon gone.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/txcolliers.net\/biblestudy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Tyre-Mark-7.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-66\" width=\"398\" height=\"452\" srcset=\"https:\/\/txcolliers.net\/biblestudy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Tyre-Mark-7.jpg 624w, https:\/\/txcolliers.net\/biblestudy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Tyre-Mark-7-264x300.jpg 264w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 398px) 100vw, 398px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Why do you think Jesus spent time in the region of Tyre? What was the reputation\/background of this area of Phoenicia?<\/li><li>Who was the woman who approached Jesus? Why do you think he gave her the reply he did?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse\">Mark 7:31-37\n<strong>The Healing of a Deaf and Mute Man<\/strong>\nThen Jesus left the vicinity of Tyre and went through Sidon, down to the Sea of Galilee and into the region of the Decapolis. There some people brought to him a man who was deaf and could hardly talk, and they begged him to place his hand on the man.\nAfter he took him aside, away from the crowd, Jesus put his fingers into the man\u2019s ears. Then he spit and touched the man\u2019s tongue. He looked up to heaven and with a deep sigh said to him, \u201cEphphatha!\u201d (which means, \u201cBe opened!\u201d). At this, the man\u2019s ears were opened, his tongue was loosened and he began to speak plainly.\nJesus commanded them not to tell anyone. But the more he did so, the more they kept talking about it. People were overwhelmed with amazement. \u201cHe has done everything well,\u201d they said. \u201cHe even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak.\u201d<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Where did this miracle take place? What was different about this area from the place Jesus was ministering in previously?<\/li><li>Describe this miracle. What was different about this miracle from others we have seen?  Why do you think Jesus did what he did here?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse\">Mark 8:22-26\n<strong>The Healing of a Blind Man at Bethsaida<\/strong>\nThey came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him. He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man\u2019s eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, \u201cDo you see anything?\u201d\nHe looked up and said, \u201cI see people; they look like trees walking around.\u201d\nOnce more Jesus put his hands on the man\u2019s eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly. Jesus sent him home, saying, \u201cDon\u2019t go into the village.\u2019\u201d<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Describe the specifics of this miracle. Again, what is different here from previous miracles we have seen Jesus do?<\/li><li>What do you learn about Jesus from these three miracles?
