{"id":39,"date":"2022-03-10T14:31:00","date_gmt":"2022-03-10T14:31:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/txcolliers.net\/biblestudy\/?p=39"},"modified":"2022-04-18T00:25:42","modified_gmt":"2022-04-18T00:25:42","slug":"mark-27-35","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/txcolliers.net\/biblestudy\/?p=39","title":{"rendered":"Mark 3:7-35"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Followers and &#8220;Family&#8221;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse\"><strong>Ministering to the Multitude<\/strong>\n\nMark 3:7-12 \nJesus departed with his disciples to the sea, and a large crowd followed from Galilee, and a large crowd followed from Judea, Jerusalem, Idumea, beyond the Jordan, and around Tyre and Sidon. The large crowd came to him because they heard about everything he was doing. Then he told his disciples to have a small boat ready for him, so that the crowd wouldn\u2019t crush him. Since he had healed many, all who had diseases were pressing toward him to touch him. Whenever the unclean spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, \u201cYou are the Son of God!\u2009\u201d And he would strongly warn them not to make him known.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\"><li>What do we learn about the crowd that followed Jesus?<\/li><li>How did Jesus respond?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse\"><strong>The Twelve Apostles<\/strong>\n\nMark 3:13-19 \nJesus went up the mountain and summoned those he wanted, and they came to him. He appointed twelve, whom he also named apostles, to be with him, to send them out to preach, and to have authority to drive out demons. He appointed the Twelve: To Simon, he gave the name Peter; and to James the son of Zebedee, and to his brother John, he gave the name \u201cBoanerges\u201d (that is, \u201cSons of Thunder\u201d); Andrew; Philip and Bartholomew; Matthew and Thomas; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\"><li>Why did Jesus choose twelve disciples?<\/li><li>From the list of disciples, what do you notice?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse\"><strong>A House Divided \/ True Relationships<\/strong>\n\nMark 3:20-35 \nJesus entered a house, and the crowd gathered again so that they were not even able to eat. When his family heard this, they set out to restrain him, because they said, \u201cHe\u2019s out of his mind.\u201d\nThe scribes who had come down from Jerusalem said, \u201cHe is possessed by Beelzebul,\u201d\u2009 and, \u201cHe drives out demons by the ruler of the demons.\u201d\nSo he summoned them and spoke to them in parables: \u201cHow can Satan drive out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand but is finished. But no one can enter a strong man\u2019s house and plunder his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man. Then he can plunder his house.\n\u201cTruly I tell you, people will be forgiven for all sins and whatever blasphemies they utter. But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin\u201d\u2009\u200b\u2014\u2009\u200b  because they were saying, \u201cHe has an unclean spirit.\u201d\n\nHis mother and his brothers came, and standing outside, they sent word to him and called him. A crowd was sitting around him and told him, \u201cLook, your mother, your brothers, and your sisters are outside asking for you.\u201d\nHe replied to them, \u201cWho are my mother and my brothers?\u2009\u201d Looking at those sitting in a circle around him, he said, \u201cHere are my mother and my brothers! Whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.\u201d <\/pre>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\"><li>Why did Jesus&#8217; family come to where he was?&nbsp; What was Jesus&#8217; response to them?<\/li><li>How did Jesus respond to the accusation of being possessed by a demon?<\/li><li>What is the &#8220;eternal sin&#8221; mentioned here in verses 28-30?
